Decorative : Hand-embroidery 'kolam-style' of pongal pot, lamp (kuthu Vilakku), sugarcane and the sun. 'Kolam' is a form of painting that is normally drawn using rice flour, usually at the entrance of the house and prayer room in Indian homes. A kolam is composed of straight and curved lines and loops, drawn around a pattern of dots. Pongal is a harvest festival celebration. The pongal pot signifies "overflowing or abundance of prosperity."
Construction : Design is partly from web, embroidered using different coloured cotton thread. An easel stand at the back supports the frame up.
